New Book Haul Part One

I am not going to lie to you, Reader, this book haul is absolutely RIDICULOUS. I have been collecting these books for the past year, and I am sure this doesn’t even include all of them, because I think at one point I just started putting them away because the pile was too much. So I have given it some thought and decided to break this haul up into two different posts because yikes. This post will be for the Book Of The Month books I have received, and then in the next post, I will do the other books I have collected over the year. For now, though, Reader, let’s dive into this BOTM haul. Maybe grab yourself a cup of tea and find a cozy spot, and settle in for the chat (read).

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab was a step out of my comfort zone simply because I am not a horror reader. I should also mention that I have only ever read one other book by this author, which I very much enjoyed. I decided I would take a chance and choose her newest book. You know, give it a whirl.

Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher was chosen because I have loved everything I have ever read by this author. This book was no disappointment. I hope, Reader, you also get the chance to read this story.

Main Characters by Bobby Palmer sounded like a completely different kind of love story, which is exactly why I chose it. The idea of it being told by all the characters except the two involved just seemed like such a different spin that I just needed it in my life.

The Paris Match by Kate Clayborn was a must-buy the second I saw it on BOTM because I LOVED her last book, Georgie, All Along. I should also mention that the cover of this book is beautiful. I am eager to get to this one soon I am hoping within the summer but we shall see Reader. Has anyone read this book yet? Please let me know in the comments. I am so eager to hear your thoughts.

Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke I got this book before it became the crazy hyped book it is now. I still have not read it, but I am intrigued by the time-travel aspect and the tradwife deal. I have a feeling this will be an interesting and possibly even frustrating read, but I am here for it.

The Shippers by Katherine Center I chose this book because I have read another book by this author and loved it. I also have heard that she tends to do closed-door romances, which is my preference, so I grabbed it.

The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer I was so excited to see that she had come out with another book because I loved The Wishing Game and The Lost Story. I mean, come on, a book witch that defends books and can jump in and out of them SIGN ME UP.

The Heartbreak Hotel by Ellen O’Clover sounds like such a strong female-based story with a cute idea for a Bed and Breakfast. I am interested to see how it all goes and if the two main characters end up together (my guess is yes, but the journey to get there will be fun).

Good Spirits by B.K. Borrison will be my first book by this author, and I am excited for it. I have heard that her books are pretty good, and seriously, I am all about the Christmas books.

Before I Forget by Tory Henwood Hoen sounds like one of those books that will just stick with you. Do you know what I mean, Reader? Don’t get me wrong, I think this one will have some heartbreak in it; however, the idea of losing your memory but then being able to predict the future is a very interesting take on a story.

Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore by Emily Krempholtz sounds adorable, and I find the cover to be beautiful. I love me a good cozy fantasy with some romance in it, and this cover is giving all the vibes. I am excited to dive into this one sooner rather than later. Has anyone read this one yet? Please comment below because I am eager to hear your thoughts on it if you have.

The Second Chance Cinema by Thea Weiss had me at the thought of rewatching my past memories being replayed on screen. Don’t get me wrong, there are some memories I would love to see again, but there are plenty I would like to keep in the far reaches of my brain. Tell me, Reader, would you want to rewatch your memories in a theater setting?

The Lost Baker of Vienna by Sharon Kurtzman is a historical novel inspired by the author’s own family after the Holocaust. That is all I needed to know before selecting this book. I love a good historical novel, especially one based in and around WWII. I imagine this will be a story that has me weeping, but that is okay because I am here for it… all of it.

Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber sounds like an interesting read for sure. I have never read this author; however, I have heard good things about her, so I figured I would give it a go.

My Friends by Fredrik Backman is a book I needed no convincing to buy. I absolutely LOVE this author and will buy anything he writes. I am currently in the middle of this book, and I am enjoying it very much. Reader, if you have not had the pleasure of picking up a Fredrik Backman book yet, then might I suggest you put it on your to-do list because I do not think you will be disappointed.

The Shampoo Effect by Jenny Jackson sounds like such a great summer read. I have never read anything by this author, but I have heard good things about her writing. I remember hearing that Pineapple Street was a big hit when that came out, and many people I watch on YouTube loved it.

How To Write A Love Story by Catherine Walsh was a must because I am pretty sure I have read most of her books that are out, and well, she is kind of an auto-buy author for me now. I really enjoy her writing style and the settings.

Rings of Fate by Melissa de la Cruz sounds like such an adventure. I mean, what a mix, one who doesn’t believe in fairy tales and one who is cursed to live one, sounds like a very interesting premise for a story. Bonus, it is the first book in a series as well, so that is always appealing to me.

Good Joy, Bad Joy by Mikki Brammer sounds like such a great story. I love following a main character who is later in life, and based on the blurb about friendship, self-discovery, and what it means to have a life well-lived, I was hooked. I have a feeling that this read will be funny and heartbreaking, but oh so good.

This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page is going to destroy me. I already know this, yet I had to have it. The story sounds so romantic and heartbreaking, not to mention that the cover is amazing. I will definitely have a box of tissues with me when I read this one.

Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn will be my first book by this author. The seller for me on this one was definitely the cover, and before you say anything, I know you are not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but my word, this is beautiful.
