My Recent Library Book Haul

As I am sure I have said many times, I love to use my local library. Libraries are such a great resource for everyone, readers and non-readers alike. They offer so many different programs and are truly a benefit to any community. Reader, do you have a library card? I would be interested to know if you use them as well. This library book haul is a small one but still, in my opinion, a good one. I have a couple of newer releases here and one cookbook. I think that getting cookbooks out of the library is a great way to test them out before deciding to buy them. It gives you an opportunity to see if there are any recipes that you would enjoy eating before spending the money. Another great thing about checking out cookbooks from the library is that it actually lets you see if it is something you would actually use in your day-to-day life. Are you someone who cooks and struggles to find new recipes? I sometimes get into a routine of making the same things, so I find it nice to check out cookbooks to change up my meals each week. Ok, so enough about all of that, let me tell you about the books I have checked out. As always, the Goodreads links will be down below so you can see what the book is about yourself.

I do not know about anybody else, but when I walk into a library, I always head for the newest release section, and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. These are the two new releases I have picked up.

How To Read A Book by Monica Wood:

I had never heard of this author, and when I read the title, I was interested to know more. This book takes place in Maine, follows three different characters in different stages of life, and is about books. I mean, what isn’t to love?

A Short Walk Through A Wide World by Douglas Westerbeke:

This book came to my attention a couple of months back as an add-on pick for Book Of The Month. I was interested in the book at the time, but I was hesitant because, if memory serves me correctly, BOTM said it was perfect for The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue readers. I own Addie LaRue but have yet to read it, so I just wasn’t sure how I would feel about A Short Walk Through A Wide World. I decided not to use my credit on it at the time, and I am so glad I waited because I found it at the library. This book takes place in Paris in 1885, and we follow a woman who travels the world to try to outrun a mysterious curse. Sounds good, right?

The Green Barbecue by Rukmini Iyer:

This is the last book in my library haul, the cookbook. I decided to pick this one up because I own another book by this author called The Green Roasting Tin, and I have used it many times throughout the years. The recipes in that book are so good, and I have been interested in checking out another one of her cookbooks since. I was so pleased to see it at my library proudly displayed on one of the front aisles facing out for the world to see. I thought, what an excellent opportunity to check it out before buying.

Reader, as always, I’d like to know if you have read any of these books or if you are interested in any of them. Until Next Time, Reader, Happy Reading.
